Jim’s Pool Care have always jumped at the opportunity to give back to the Australian community and at their conference this year, the opportunity was given to them. With the suggestion coming from one of their very own Franchises, Jim’s Pool Care decided to use the excitement of their Annual Conference to raise money for Guide Dogs Australia. In fact, every year Jim’s Pool Care Franchise owners come together to help raise money for great causes such as this.
This year, Jim’s Pool Care and their National Suppliers raised in excess of $6,000! This is an amazing effort for everyone involved and this money will go towards training a Guide Dog who can then assist a person with low vision to gain the freedom and independence to move safely and confidently around their community.
Here are a few words from Guide Dogs Australia:
“Guide Dogs is truly humbled by the outstanding fundraising efforts at the recent Jim’s Pool Care conference in Sydney.
It costs more than $50,000 to breed, raise and train a Guide Dog, and we receive only about 5% of our funding from government. Without community support like this, we simply cannot provide life-changing services to people with sight loss.
Particular thanks go to the wonderful exhibitors who contributed prizes to the auction and Theresa and Gino Borsato who spearheaded this initiative. Theresa and Gino are such warm and community-minded people who are also helping to raise a Guide Dog-in-training. They are such passionate advocates for our work and are helping us to make a real difference in the lives of people with sight loss.
A big thank you to everyone at the conference who donated. Your contribution, whatever size, is so very appreciated. From everyone at Guide Dogs, thank you!”
